Leadership Student Learning

Student Learning

In the 21st Century, students are facing increasing pressure to perform well. Parents want the very best for their children. Long hours and a focus on content will not improve student's ability to learn and thrive in the 21st century.

Develop an Agile Mind and Crack the HSC Code
- for Year 11 and 12 students.

Improve your HSC band performance and develop the critical skills of learning and resilience.

NB The course can be adapted for Stage 4 and 5 students to build in these higher order thinking skills and approaches into these earlier stages of learning. This can then give students a "flying start" for Stage 6.

  1. Learn how to decode any question - crack the code!- and what is required.
  2. Learn how to use scaffolds to answer the questions at the highest levels (Band 5 and 6 - A and B levels).
  3. Learn how to assess your current band level and the skills needed to move up a band
Student Learning

The emphasis is not on rote learning, but on developing an agile mind. Activities which aid understanding motivate, improve recall, reduce stress, access different learning strategies, and improve creativity and problem solving.  Key skills for life and beyond school.

Many of us do some exercise to keep our body fit and healthy but do we consider our mind? Do we really understand how to use it and to keep it fit?

  • Learn how to manage your state, to learn, understand, energise and relax.
  • Develop the skills essential for learning in any subject.
  • Develop better problem solving skills and mental flexibility.
  • Have a greater understanding of how thinking impacts on emotions, energy, stress levels, behaviour and performance.

* These courses are delivered at schools.
